• Are you a teacher of history, science, social studies, language, music or art?
• Are you interested in helping your students to better understand the important role natural resources play in our daily lives?
• Are you looking for a fun, interactive way to illustrate the need for wise use and protection of these precious resources?

If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, the Manitoba Forestry Association’s (MFA) “Forests in the Classroom” In-School Program may be just what you are looking for!

Forest in the Classroom provides curriculum-based presentations for kindergarten to grade 4. Our goal is not to offer a single lesson, but a basis in natural resource management that can be used in conjunction with current classroom study. Presentations feature a combination of interactive activities on renewable resources, a visit with Bruce the Spruce, and short informative talks. With a focus on engaging students, presentations are best suited for individual class sizes. Programs also include lessons and activity ideas that you can complete with your students before and after our classroom visit.

Programs Cost: Two programs $100 + GST (during a morning or afternoon). Four programs $170 + GST (full day).  Mileage is extra for schools outside of Winnipeg.

Presentations are each 45 minutes in length. Ask your fellow teachers about taking advantage of this opportunity!

Forest in the Classroom is truly a fun, and meaningful way to bring nature to your students. Complete our online booking request form to arange a visit to your classroom.
