As of Fall 2011 the Manitoba Forestry Association will no longer be offering Forest in the Classroom presentations.
During it's run Forest in the Classroom provided curriculum-based presentations for students Kindergarten to grade 4. Our goal was not to offer a single lesson, but a basis in natural resource management that could be used in conjunction with current classroom study. Presentaions featured a combination of interactive activites on renewable resources, a visit with Bruce the Spruce, and short informative talk. Programs also included lessons and activites teachers were able complete before and after our classroom visit. The Presentations ranged from 30-minutes to 60 minutes.
We are looking forward to launching our new Forest in the Virtual Classroom in 2012.
