One way to help offset the carbon emissions of any new home is to plant trees, as trees absorb the carbon dioxide (CO2) from the atmosphere during photosynthesis.

The tree planting program Planting for the Future was created in partnership with Qualico Homes. Qualico has committed to fund the planting of approximately 100,000 seedlings by the Manitoba Forestry Association (MFA) over the next 10 years. The planting sites will be located on public and private lands in Manitoba.

In addition to the benefits new forests will have on air quality, they will also help reduce soil erosion, improve water quality, restore wildlife habitat and beautify denuded areas.

Planting for the Future is just one of the initiatives in Qualico's environmental stewardship strategy. Qualico is committed to action that will benefit the environment and future generations.
