Project Learning Tree (PLT) is an award-winning environmental education program designed for teachers and other educators working with students in Kindergarten to Grade 12.
By using the forest as a window into the natural world, young people gain awareness and knowledge of the world around them, as well as their place within it. Best of all, students learn how to think, not what to think, about our complex environment.
Developed in the U.S., Project Learning Tree has been used in Canada for close to 20 years. It is made available in Manitoba through the Manitoba Forestry Association (MFA) with the cooperation of the American Forest Council and the Western Regional Environmental Education Council. The MFA will guide you through the 500 page curriculum and activity guide, which you take back to your classroom.
For more information on PLT or to participate in a workshop, please contact the MFA at (204) 453-3182.
