The centre will be closed on Monday August 2nd.

July 31 and August 1 - Weekend program = Abunance of the Forest
&lt;br&gt;
There is more to the forest then trees and wood. Come learn more about non-timber forest product of the forest including wild edibles, teas, craft and art materials and more!

What's from a forest, What's not from a forest bag of surprises!
&lt;br&gt;
Various craft examples involving non timber products

There will be potted trees for sale at the Sandilands Forest Discovery Centre all summer long. We accept cash and cheque. There is White Spruce, Black Hills Spruce, Red Pine, White Pine, Balsam Fir and White Cedar. The prices are subject to GST and PST. Come out and see the selection available. For more information about prices call our Winnipeg office at 453-3182 ext. 5 or our Sandilands office at 426-5374.

&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;
This workshop will bring together caribou biologists, managers, Aboriginal groups, researchers, students and resource users throughout North America.</ShortStory><description>In October 2010, Winnipeg will be hosting this important workshop at a time when caribou populations throughout North America are under increased scrutiny, and woodland caribou are recognized as threatened or endangered and have become a high profile species. 
&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;
This workshop will bring together caribou biologists, managers, Aboriginal groups, researchers, students and resource users throughout North America.

The workshop theme, Sustaining Caribou and their Landscapes – Knowledge to Action, provides participants with the opportunity to share both scientific and traditional knowledge for sustaining caribou populations. The workshop will increase awareness that will lead towards ensuring the long-term persistence of caribou throughout North America and its circumpolar range.
