As a leader in forest education, Sandilands Forest Discovery Centre has been offering school programs in forest conservation since 1957. This year's variety of newly developed programs tie in to the current Manitoba curriculum and offer students the opportunity to learn about the forest in a natural setting. Program options include guided hikes, bannock bakes, tours of the interpretive buildings and Pineland Forest Nursery, crafts, games and much more!
School programs at the Centre are available on weekdays from May 21 to June 26, 2013 for students from kindergarten to grade 12. We also invite daycares or other organizations to book a special program for the months of July and August.
Maximum participant size for school programs is 50 students.
Field trips cost $3.50 per person (including teachers and volunteers), or $5.50 per person if doing a bannock bake. Please note, this year we will be billing the school in the week following the field trip based upon actual attendance numbers.
There are several guided hikes and activities to choose from for each grade level. Please see the 2013 guided hike and program descriptions listed below for details.
