School Programs

As a leader in forest education, Sandilands Forest Discovery Centre has been offering school programs in forest conservation since 1957. This year’s variety of newly developed programs tie in to the current Manitoba curriculum and offer students the opportunity to learn about the forest in a natural setting. Program options include guided hikes, bannock bakes, tours of the interpretive buildings and Pineland Forest Nursery, crafts, games and much more!

School programs at the Centre are available on weekdays from late May to the end of June, for students from kindergarten to grade 12. We also invite daycares or other organizations to book a special program for the months of July and August.

Maximum participant size for school programs is 50 students.

Field trips cost $5.00 per person (including teachers and volunteers). Please note, we will invoice the school the week following the field trip based upon actual attendance numbers.

There are several guided hikes and activities to choose from for each grade level.
