What is the
Manitoba Envirothon
The Manitoba Envirothon is an annual hands-on environmental education competition for high school students, designed to encourage team work, problem-solving skills, and public speaking skills while fostering an appreciation for current environmental issues.
Envirothon combines the exhilaration of team competition, the challenge of learning about environmental issues, and the experience of using this knowledge in hands-on activities. This approach to environmental education helps students develop skills necessary to address environmental issues, such as team work, problem-solving, critical thinking, and public debate.
New for 2021
Manitoba Envirothon is going virtual!!
Virtual - that's right!
What does that mean?
The Manitoba Envirothon is offering students from right across Manitoba an opportunity to be involved in the program! The competition will be held over a 7 day period in May (May 3rd - 10th, 2021).
The Manitoba Envirothon is a high school event. However, the 2021 Virtual Manitoba Envirothon will be open to Middle Years students as well!
Students can enter as individuals, partial teams of 2-4, or a full team of 5! However, an advisor must be identified. **
Individual and partial teams will be paired together to form full teams of 5 whenever possible.
The Manitoba Envirothon will accommodate students who have access to reliable internet as well as students who are working off-line.
The program will include the same amazing Envirothon features such as: Team introduction skits, hands-on Enviro science, amazing awards and celebrations!
**Only full teams of 5 students from the same school, non-traditional school or youth organization will be eligible to represent Manitoba at the 2021 NCF-Envirothon as per NCF-Envirothon Rules and Regulations.

How to
GET STARTED

Select An Advisor
Every Envirothon team or individual needs an advisor. An advisor can be a high school teacher, parent, or youth leader who becomes the team leader.

Create A Team
An Envirothon team is composed of five grade 9-12 students. Some are self-selected students with an interest, while others compete within their school for a place on the team. Please note, this year’s event is also open to Middle Year students!

Register & Pay Fee
Once an advisor is identified he/she should talk to your school about the registration fee – $75 for an individual student or $375 for a team of 5 students.

Prepare
Visit this website regularly for instructions and details about your team’s participation. Media release and medical forms on this website must be filled out in order to participate.

Study
The team will use the resources posted on this website to study and prepare for the Manitoba Envirothon.

ENVIROTHON VOLUNTEERS
Each year approximately 200+ volunteers plan and deliver the Manitoba Envirothon. Without our volunteers Manitoba Envirothon would not be possible. Volunteering at Manitoba Envirothon is a lot of fun and an opportunity to meet many great people. There is a wide range of volunteer opportunities at both Regional and the Provincial events; including field test station attendants, judges, facilitators, hall monitors, and many other positions.
